Agenda Sneak Peeks 2012: HUF, Part 1 of 2

The Southern in Oxblood/Tan, Black/Tan & Military/Dark Earth.

After a couple of years in production, I couldn't be happier to see how well HUF is doing. Aside from being an actual skateboarding brand, they've come into their own with original designs and have a team of amazing skaters. HUF continues to push out original colorways and designs without drawing any influence from any other brands in the game. This is even more true after checking out this sneak peek preview of his Fall 2012 line.

The "Southern" model is drawing a ton of attention because of it's bumper detail and overall clean look. Even though this classic one piece toe cap formula has been beaten to death and over used, HUF manages to make this model look completely new. It may be the subtle design, shape of the shoe or the bumper on the panel but whichever it may be, the Southern looks great.

The 1984 in Off White/Black suede & Grey/White suede.

The 1984 in Midnight/Yellow suede & Black/Sport Red suede.

Between the Southern & the 1984, it's hard to say which one we're going to review. Both of them have features that have been leaving consumers curious as to how well they'll hold up once on the board. As much as we have been drooling over the Southern, we're more than likely going to go with the 1984. It's HUF's first technical model that has a performance gel insert in the heel and a new outsole design we're dying to test out. Aside from that, the triple stitched toe cap looks to hold up well so the overall experience should be dope. Now all we need to decide is which colorway to get...

Black Pack featuring the Huf 1 Vulc, Mateo & Morton.

Common with bikers and anyone that wants to look like Heath Kirchart, all black shoes are coming back in a big way in 2012. Their popularity has come out of nowhere and makes every skater, depending on their skill level and clothing, either look like a ninja, biker or a fool. It's a tough one to pull off so we'll probably stay out of the way but we do admire anyone who can pull it off.

The Genuine in Black leather, Grey leather/suede & Red waxed canvas.

The Genuine is another shoe that's got us in awe. It's simplicity of just pushing the tongue in or out has been hugely popular with those who have tried them and has also been stolen by a number of brands. I can't say as to whether HUF & co. came up with this small but popular feature but they were the first to bring it into the skate game if we remember correctly. But regardless, let's not get caught up in politics.

The Genuine this year is all grown up for a sophisticated and polished look for Fall 2012. The black model is all leather while the grey is a suede/ leather. The red Genuine is a wax canvas that looks undeniably like leather. They all look perfect for a chill shoe, plus we've heard great things about it's comfort.

Check back next week for part 2.
Have a good weekend.

Peace.

  2. Really love the site and really digging the Huf line but to say that they aren't drawing influence is a bit of a crock! Aside from that keep up the good work!
